During a trip to Omaha to visit my sister the Old Salt and I decided to get off the interstate near Kansas City and take a less traveled and hopefully more scenic route. That is when a wrong turn took us down a side street in the little town of Blackwater MIssouri and I captured these photos of someone's effort to hide a couple large stumps in their front yard. I found the work very creative and unique with a nice country whimsy. It also happens to be perfect for this season of Leprechauns.
To check out the yard art discovered by others visit Mary and her friends at Work of the Poet.
Man, I miss traveling. Got to love the interesting little things that you can miss. Those are great photos. I love the little mushroom house. REminds of Smurfs from the eighties. Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend.♥Nancy
ReplyDeleteI love those. I'm not sure that they are hiding the stumps tho. I think they had the stumps left on purpose!

These would be perfect homes for my gnomes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kathy. I think they wanted to keep the stumps to decorate them!
Fun post!
Oh my gosh, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI want one. :)
I'm with Nancy - reminds me of Smurfs too.
Mine’s here: Round The Bend.
OH look at the little mushroom house!!! :-) Were you part of Paula's "Gnome Party" last month?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to stop by your blog real quick and tell you about the Hoolie that is held in St Louis every year.
I think it was last weekend though. I don't know if this is part of the "Dogtown" you told me about or not. (I have been to St Louis many times, but am still not familiar with every part of town.)
