Fighting the Winter Blahs

I hope that I am not the only one having to go back into the archives for photos to post this week. All the snow and ice here in the heart of Missouri's wine country has made it difficult to get out with my camera.

I do have two great finds to share though. This first shot was taken in the waiting room of our doctor a few months ago. I'm sure you have seen this lady on your television screen advertising a name brand of anti-depressant. I noticed this cardboard cutout sitting on one of the side tables beside a stack of handouts.

I placed her in my chair and snapped away. I actually used this photo to make a point about my own malaise in another post but this is her first appearance on Pink Saturday.

Truthfully, if we don't get that early spring Punxsutawney Phil predicted I may have to resort to taking some of those pills she peddles. And, since I can't wait for all the warmth and signs of life that come with spring I am going to take us there in memory with the following photo that should cheer up those of you who, like me, are suffering the winter blahs.

Now, to toss in a little bit of pink knowledge the color of these flowers (which I do not know the name of) is called cerise. It falls on the high end of the pink scale next to magenta.

Wishing you all a good week. May your pathways be free of ice and snow and the warmth of the sun be on your back.

I am linking this post to Pink Saturday, hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

  1. I think a lot of people feel like that "downer" lady...lol...I think it's called seasonal deficit disorder or something meaning we all need more sunshine. You brought a spring to my step with those lovely flowers though.

  2. Hi Rita Sweetie...
Oh what a precious share. I love this little gal on the commercial. You know there are some days we just feel like this. Our get up and go, can't get up and get anymore.

Your garden is gorgeous sweetie, and believe me it will come back one day. It can't be that far away can it? I will be saying some prayers for you sweetie that all will be good soon. Weather and health wise we will feel great soon.

Have a beautiful weekend. Think positive thoughts of SUMMER. Even SPRING. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  4. Oh, I hope your winter blues don't last too much longer. It has been so hard on so many, but your reward is coming in a few months. Happy Pink Saturday and love the sign. I have seen her on T.V, she gets around!! HA, Char
