Maxine on Saturday-- week two

This is the second week for "Maxine on Saturday" a new meme started by my friend Mary over at "Work of the Poet" "Maxine on Saturday" is dedicated to one of my favorite ladies, Maxine. Maxine is someone you either love or hate. She is a gal I can't help but love and who makes me wish I had the chutzpah to copy. After all, we all think like her but just don't have the guts to say it out loud.

After reading something this week that stated tattoo removal has become the fastest growing cosmetic surgery procedure...especially for women, I knew that I had found my Maxine entry for this week. I certainly have to agree with Maxine. I find the increasing numbers of young people I see in my small town with multiple tattoos to be very alarming. I am sure that many of these kids I see are young enough to need a parents permission to get their tattoo. What kind of parent signs such a permission slip? That is the scary part.

Why? Oh Why?

Most Tattooed Woman Isobel Varley

Why? Oh Why, do young girls want to destroy their bodies with tattoos? In a restaurant today there was a Mother (forty-ish) and a daughter (maybe 20)and the new grand-baby (newborn) in the booth in front of me. Both ladies had on very skimpy outfits. Cropped Tank tops, short shorts hanging low on hips and thongs. Both had every inch of skin covered in tattoos. Not petite girlie butterflies and flowers but, a skull and cross bones, snakes and demons and large ugly monsters in a variety of red, green and blue. They would have both been very attractive and made a lovely family picture if not for the tattoos. I had to wonder how long before they find a way to cover that adorable baby with all that horrible artwork.
