Tuesday is the day that Mary at "Work of the Poet" hosts Ruby Tuesday. Rednesday is a Wednesday meme hosted by Sue at "It's a Very Cherry World." Both memes are dedicated to the color red. To join the fun or just check out what Red others are excited to share visit Mary and her friends at Ruby Tuesday and Sue and her friends from Rednesday
Last week the Old Salt needed to visit an oral surgeon in the next county. The trip ended up providing my entries for this week's memes celebrating the color Red. As we entered the Doctor's office this inviting red wreath was hanging on the door. As I was waiting in the reception area I noticed that the upholstery fabric also contained some red.
Since I had some time to kill before the Old Salt would be ready to leave I wandered across the street to a small antique shop where I found two items that I fell in love with. This old dial phone with its peeling coat of red paint was shouting to be photographed and featured here.
When I spotted these red ladies from across the room I was sure they would turn out to be syrup bottles. Was I surprised to find that they were actually a set of Salt and Pepper Shakers. And, no ordinary set at that. These beauties stood six inches tall. Priced at $7.00 I had to take them home to add to the other red accessories that will be going into my kitchen as soon as I have time to put the sunny yellow paint I just purchased up on the walls .
They say that red is the color of cupid and the devil. I hope your week is full of only the good reds that bring love, energy and joy.
I love those salt and pepper shakers! They're lovely! Happy Tuesday! My Ruby Tuesday!
