Yard Art Thursday -- Home of the Little People

Mary T. at the Work of the Poet is a very busy lady. She host several of my favorite memes and she now has a new one that is right up my interest alley, so to speak. So this week I am joining Mary and her friend for Yard Art Thursday. This meme features just what the title implies, all those unique and unusual things that we homeowners like to display in our yards.

During a trip to Omaha to visit my sister the Old Salt and I decided to get off the interstate near Kansas City and take a less traveled and hopefully more scenic route. That is when a wrong turn took us down a side street in the little town of Blackwater MIssouri and I captured these photos of someone's effort to hide a couple large stumps in their front yard. I found the work very creative and unique with a nice country whimsy. It also happens to be perfect for this season of Leprechauns.

To check out the yard art discovered by others visit Mary and her friends at Work of the Poet.

  2. I love those. I'm not sure that they are hiding the stumps tho. I think they had the stumps left on purpose!

  3. These would be perfect homes for my gnomes.

I agree with Kathy. I think they wanted to keep the stumps to decorate them!

    Fun post!

  5. OH look at the little mushroom house!!! :-) Were you part of Paula's "Gnome Party" last month?
I wanted to stop by your blog real quick and tell you about the Hoolie that is held in St Louis every year.
I think it was last weekend though. I don't know if this is part of the "Dogtown" you told me about or not. (I have been to St Louis many times, but am still not familiar with every part of town.)

Thank you for stopping by my site. Without your visits there would be no incentive to continue posting. So, having you here and reading your comments is the highlight of my day.

I regret that time does not always allow me to return visits to everyone who stops by, but, I will certainly do my best to get to everyone. I will definitely answer any questions you leave me.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
