yard art Thursday -- Hooty

Mary T. at the Work of the Poet is hosting a new meme called Yard Art Thursday. This meme features just what the title implies, all those unique and unusual things that we homeowners like to display in our yards. To check out the yard art discovered by others visit Mary and her friends at Work of the Poet.

We spent a few days this week in Columbia Missouri visiting a family member. While there I captured these photos of a tree trunk carving in front of a building that was under construction. Because of the coloring of the sculpture I could not believe it was a real stump so I had to go up and touch it. Turns out the gold was paint that was added to the carving.

  2. That is cool. Yeah, we have things like that here in Ny. I should take a photo of a local Indian. I like the little racoon in the trunk part. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend. Nancy

  3. Hi Rita...

I just seen you post and wanted to come by to say hello and see what you've been up to, my friend! I hope that my note finds you and honey both well!

I love this tree stump sculpture...isn't it fabulous? The artist was very talented! The owl is so life like but I have to tell you that it was the little racoon with his banded tail sticking out of the hole that just stole my heart...that's just too cute! Thank you for sharing this with us...sooo unique and beautiful!

    Warmest wishes,

  4. What a wonderful find!
I know from looking at them and wishing for one that these can be expensive but oh how I'd love one with all the little critters. :)
