Quonset Hut Redo

I captured this old barn, made from a WWll era quonset hut, during my recent visit to Pine Mountain Georgia.  I learned from my cousin that the fencing and one side of this old quonset hut had been destroyed in the 2011 tornados.  The fence and damaged area of the building were recently replaced.  While the medal part of the building was still a deep red the new wooden wall was a soft adobe pink.

  1. I thought looking at the photo something looked off. :)
I'm glad they decided to renovate it. I also liked their idea to paint a fake door to match the real one.
    Nice find Rita!

  3. That barn could go with my Barbie pink barn of a few weeks ago! Nice soft color, but a little different for a barn, I'm thinking! Very interesting shape!

  9. I just thought it was real faded! I like it...didn't notice the fake door till I read Carletta's comment.

  10. There is a barn made of a hut around here, though the owners didn't halve it or paint it (it's a weathered silver). I love that this barn has been 'evened' up with the 'extra' door. lol
