It's Saturday. The day when blogland once again celebrates all things pink. I have an odd collection of pinks to share this week. Last weekend the Old Salt and I dropped everything to drive my Mother to Alabama to the bedside of her dying sister. We stayed for the funeral and tried to visit as many family members as possible during the time we were there. I found these pink shots in my camera when I got home, and, what better day then Pink Saturday to share them with all of you.
I actually snapped this blooming tree just a few blocks from home as we were leaving town.
This pink house is located in Dothan, Alabama. The building is currently for sale and I learned from the agents listing that the house was built in 1904. It was once a grand home and has had many changes over the years. It is in the old downtown area and currently houses an antique shop. The business is also for sale.
Tom is my first cousin, once removed. He switched to bow ties some years ago because regular ties were always getting in the way of his work. To honor my Aunt, he wore her favorite color to her funeral.
This sweetie is my first cousin twice removed. Also, decked out in pink.
Kaylee (also a first cousin twice removed) showing off her pet squirrel
during our stopover at her house.
Have no idea what kind of plant this is.
It was growing in a large pot in a store we visited.
I'm linking this post to Pink Saturday. Stop by Beverly's blog and check out all the pink goodness posted by others this week by clicking here.
I believe that plant is some type of bromeliad...very pretty shots of pink! Hope you are doing well and have a great weekend planned!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Rita Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous share of pinks this morning. I love seeing them all. Now that tree is just gorgeous in all of its beauty. You captured that one at the perfect time. I love it.
A pink house. Now that is one house that nobody would miss. You would always be able to find where you were going. I love the white trim, it looks so Victorian. Love it. Thanks for capturing that one dear friend.
Love seeing the faces of your family. How wonderful to see bow ties come back into fashion. They don't catch on everything and they look so nice. How handsome your cousin is. Wonderful face.
Kaylee is precious, and a pet squirrel? Oh my gosh I would be scared to death. They scare me, but she sure is a happy camper. You will have to share the story behind how the squirrel became her little pet. I would love to hear it.
Love that bloom as well. You did a fabulous job dear friend of capturing such beauty on your trip. I hope you are getting back to normal around your house. Have a beautiful weekend. Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry
The pix are beautiful -- I just absolutely love that family members wore pink in honor of your aunt at her funeral. How amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you woke up to get the picture of that tree -- you must have a true photographer's instinct ;>)
