A Craigslist find recently had the Old Salt and me making the drive over to the little hamlet of Campbellton, Missouri. While there I captured this old barn.
While the siding is a little less for wear, there appears to be some great old barn wood underneath it.

I saw the other view of this barn...nice, but strange looking covering! Some kind of painted siding over the old wood - I liked the design of the old wood better!
ReplyDeleteNeat old barn! I've never seen one that has siding like that over the siding.
ReplyDeletei prefer the old wood to the strange siding!
ReplyDeletegreat find. :)

There's a barn very similar to this one in Ellsinore, Mo, just west of here w/ red shingles covering wood w/ several missing... those are shingles, right? I just don't understand why they'd do that, because wood barns are so beautiful to me...
ReplyDeleteLink up as many barns as you like, no problem at all! =) I just appreciate you joining period! LoL! Thanks a million
Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteIt is kind of odd, but it's still a lovely old barn!
ReplyDeleteso different. but so neat as well. (:
ReplyDeleteLike that they've allowed the vines to grow over it--very tolerant of the farm owner. :-) Hope no one sees that good barnwood inside so Old Spotty can live on.
ReplyDeleteI love the vine on that barn. Gives it such character. Great photos
ReplyDeleteThat is unusual to shingle over the barn wood. But it is a great old barn. I like the vines growing on it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Interesting old barn.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun, love the red against the green ... great photos.
