Over the weekend we made a road trip to the Ozark Lakes area of the state. Every few miles we passed a striped awing or tent set up on a parking lot or an empty field, as folks prepare for the June 20th opening of fireworks sales in our state. While the tents come in a variety of looks, red and white stripes seem to be the most popular making them perfect for this week's Ruby Tuesday post.
By this weekend there will be every imaginable kind of sign or flashing item attached to these tents to attract attention and hopefully your wallet to that particular spot. Missouri has more relaxed laws on what fireworks can be sold, so we have lots of people crossing state lines to smuggle home items that are illegal in their area. The only good thing is it's all over in three weeks. Then everything disappears as fast as it arrived.
If you are one of the folks purchasing fireworks this year, please be careful and stay safe.
Have a great week everyone and for more things red visit Ruby Tuesday at

Fireworks are fun to watch, but I do not really like to be the one lighting them. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteFireworks can be great fun when enjoyed safely, but safety is definitely the key.
ReplyDeleteYes, these tents are popping up all over our area too. The do make for a colorful Ruby Tuesday photo though. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI remember those tent when living in Missouri. I always look forward to the 4th of July. This year I will be spending it in Colorado, Cripple Creek. Happy RT
