This is a busy week for my family. Last Saturday we celebrated the high school graduation of two of my nieces. This Saturday, my nephew is getting married. My sister from Omaha scheduled her vacation to be home for these momentous occasions. On Wednesday about a dozen family members arranged to get together at Onondaga Cave State Park for a day of fun in the sun. I took these shots of my nieces all decked out in bright colors.
These three girls are my sisters children
I'm delighted they are able to visit as often as they do.
But, sadden that they will never think of the St. Louis area as their hometown.

Missouri is known as the "The Cave State" and Onondaga Cave is located in Onondaga Cave State Park located in Leasburg, Missouri. Onondaga Cave was discovered in 1886 and is recognized as one of the most spectacular caves in the nation because of the quality of its formations. The park was established in 1982, and named a national natural landmark. The park offers many activities including cave tours, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking and swimming. The park’s Vilander Bluff Natural Area provides a panoramic view of the Meramec River. Easy access to the Meramec River allows visitors to canoe or fish in a bucolic setting. This time of year the water level and temperature is perfect for lazing around on a hot day.
